Sulfur Cosmos "Bright Lights" Flowers

Does anyone out there grow sulfur cosmos?
This was our first year growing them. We have long lost interest in them as a cut flower, but have developed great interest in simply watching them.
If you have grown them, has a giant green cosmos forest with very late bloom been your experience? Plants are finally shooting up flower heads, taking them well over 7 and 8 feet tall... the packet said 2-3 feet. We saw our first open flower today, on those rich green giant plants.
Even without flowers they are beautiful, and among the last thing standing in our front field, so we both admire, and kick rocks, about the cosmos forest.
